I like how the father’s abuse is presented. Usually in stories it comes down to physical abuse; that gets the most attention. But the snide remarks and constant insults and dismissals, eroding one’s sense of self, can be just as brutal and you capture that here with the father and his family. The conversations feel so…empty and distant, but also have an underlying tone to them that is always tense, and it adds a lot to the scenes. I feel for this family <3
