It was a week after the attack, and things had gone back to normal, or almost normal. Kye secretly waited for Ruby's call, but at the same time, she wished she would never receive it at all.

Their lives had taken different directions that seemed irreconcilable at the moment. Of course, Kye wished Ruby would come back home safely someday, but realistically, once people joined the Resistance, they were in for life. A lot died young in their missions. That was a well-known fact.

Kye also knew it was a risk the moment they got back in contact with each other. The angels were not useless, especially when it came to their enemy. Ruby had said she was on their watchlist, so that was something they shouldn't ignore. Kye assumed her sister would be smart enough when or if she decided to contact her, but that didn't mean they should push their luck. Kye would prefer not to get involved at all. She loved Ruby with all her heart, but she still had a life to live and people to take care of.

As selfish as it sounded, that was how she felt.

Things had changed a lot between her and Michael. On the surface, he still gave her the same attention as before, and she fulfilled her duties to their fullest extent. However, since Kye realized Michael's true feelings and intention toward her, although she was happy, it got a little awkward. Kye pulled away, and if Michael realized something was off, he wouldn't say a thing about it. Nor questioned her about that fateful night when they ended up at Ruby's place.

It seemed that he was not curious at all, or more likely, had already gotten all the answers he needed. Kye had come to a conclusion that if Michael wanted to punish her because of Ruby, who was her sister but also a Resistance member—who had helped save his ass—he should go right ahead. There was nothing she could do about it now.

He could've done so already.

Most days, Kye either stayed in her room or, when she absolutely must face Michael, kept the talking and eye contact to a minimum. Michael was not a conversationalist either, besides when he needed to get his points across, so there had been a long silence between them.

At the moment, Kye was sitting by her vanity table and ready to go to bed when her phone rang. It was an unknown number. For some reason, she had felt the need to pick up.

"Hello, who's this?"

"Guess who..." Ruby's sang on the other end.

"Jeez... Took you long enough. What's up?" Kye didn't know why, but she started to whisper. "Are you supposed to be calling like this? I mean, what if they're listening in on us?"

Michael's footsteps pacing back and forth upstairs added to her paranoia. He could zap in at any moment, despite the many times she had told him about personal spaces and boundaries. Some habits never died.

"Relax, it's a disposable phone! I have like twenty of them at all times. With wardings! So, no worries... How you've been, though? How's your feathered boyfriend?"

"He's not my boyfriend." Kye rolled her eyes.

She didn't know exactly what they were, nor did she ever want to label it. Maybe, she didn't dare to. It was inappropriate. But that didn't stop how they felt about each other either. It grew every day, and Kye felt utterly and pleasantly helpless.

"Hm...Ok, if you say so." Ruby didn't seem too convinced.

Kye laughed, "We're both fine. As a matter of fact, he woke up that day right after you left, good as new. Fig really knows what he's doing."

"Of course! He's the best we have over here. The guy doesn't seem like it, but he is a genius. Has some sketchy hobbies, though, if you ask me..."

Kye listened to Ruby trail off about Fig. She did miss her sister. A lot. It would be so good if they could go back to the way things had been before, mindlessly gossiping about people, running around on the streets, taking shitty part-time jobs, and dreaming about a grand future. They had never had much besides each other, and it felt enough. It felt like they were on top of the world.

Before they could get far in their nostalgic conversation, Kye heard a rustle and looked up. In the mirror, Michael stood not too far behind her in a corner of the room. He still wore the same outfit he had on earlier that day, minus the suit jacket: A tailored navy blue vest with a white dress shirt underneath, matching dress pants, and a blue tone-on-tone paisley silk tie. The outfit complimented his eyes perfectly, making them impossibly blue, even more than usual. His brown hair and eyebrows looked ink-black under the room's yellow light. Michael was leaning on the wall, observing.

He was always a sight to behold, but no matter how good he looked or how many butterflies fluttered in her stomach, Kye could never get used to Michael appearing out of thin air and standing so close behind her all of a sudden. She froze, and Ruby caught that on the other side.

"Hey, the angel is nearby, isn't he? Meet me at Marco's this Saturday, 3 p.m. sharp. Don't be late!"

Ruby talked fast and hung up while Kye slowly put the phone down on the vanity table.

"Do you need something, Master? You could've called me." She took a second to gather herself and put a smile on her face before turning around to face Michael.

"You said we could read 'Brave New World' together. We can do that now before you sleep if you're not tired."

Kye shook her head. "I'm not tired."

She stood up and walked slowly toward Michael. Upon her arrival, Kye gently touched his elbow before pulling his hand out of the pants pocket to lock her fingers in his. Michael's hand was dry and cold as a block of ice, but it warmed up to hers instantly.

He studied her face for a moment before squeezing her hand. Michael didn't ask who she had been on the phone with, and Kye was grateful for that.

She looked down at their linked hands. As hesitant and flippant as she was at times, Michael always had a way to pull her out of her shell toward him. The way he asked her to spend time with him reminded Kye of a shy young man, not an all-powerful, immortal being who owned her. It was hard not to be moved by these little things.

Michael then put his right hand in between her shoulder blades and teleported them both upstairs. Kye swayed on her feet as they landed in the library. She thought they would walk. She could never get used to this method of traveling. As fast and convenient as it sounded, the only good thing about teleporting, in Kye's opinion, was the shorter distances didn't nearly make her as sick as the longer ones. Kye leaned on Michael and closed her eyes to wait for the sensation to go away. Meanwhile, Michael stood silently with his arms wrapped around her.

Gently, he stroked her hair and put his lips on her forehead. Warmth poured into Kye, spreading from where they touched to the rest of her body. She blinked her eyes a few times and looked up. The archangel gave her a faint smile and guided her toward a white velvet chaise in the middle of the room where a leather-bound and very old-looking book was waiting.

Michael pulled Kye down next to him and gave her the book. Kye started to read, but after a few pages, she noticed that Michael wasn't listening at all.

He leaned back on the chaise with his eyes half-closed. Kye knew he was not tired. Or was he?

His kind was not supposed to get tired unless their grace was diminished somehow. That was what Fig had said.

Concerned, Kye touched Michael. "Are you feeling ok, Master?"

The archangel straightened his back and leaned closer. "You've been avoiding me."

It wasn't a question.

"No...I haven't!" Kye scoffed and slammed the book shut, but the look on Michael's face softened something inside of her. She had acted strangely around him, and that must have been confusing.

Hurtful, even.

Kye sighed. "Ok, maybe I have. A little... I'm sorry. I understand what you wanted to ask me that day when we went for a walk now. Even when I still don't fully get the whole concept, I know it is not something to be taken lightly. It will affect both of us greatly, but especially, you. I don't really care about what other people or angels would think or say. I just don't want to put you in harm for any reason. That's really all I care about, Michael, if I can call you that... know what I feel about you, and now, what you feel about me, but I don't know... I don't know what we should do. I just can't give you a definite answer for now. I'm sorry."

"Don't be." Michael picked up Kye's hand from the book and held it in his. "It is a big decision, Kye, so take all the time you need, but please know this: I didn't make mine lightly. When I asked you those questions, I had come fully prepared. I believe you are worth it for me to take that step."

It was probably as close to a declaration of love as Kye would ever get out of Michael. It moved her greatly, and tears rolled out of her eyes. To have her feelings reciprocated by Michael was something Kye had always dreamed of, but turning immortal with Michael's grace was a huge decision with many factors to consider. Many unknown ones. Kye just couldn't shake the feeling that she was being selfish if she accepted his offer without talking to her family first. At the same time, she felt guilty for making Michael wait. She could hardly wait herself.

Normally, when a domesticated companion reached a certain age, he or she would be released from service. Like retirement. If the angel enjoyed the companionship enough, when the human companion passed away and went to Heaven, he or she could be arranged to be with the same angel again. The contract that people signed when they got selected for the job was, in fact, a soul contract, but most people didn't know that. It would last for eternity unless the angel broke it off. Realistically, most companionships didn't last very long, for one reason or another. One big reason would be the angels' aloof natures and their negative view of humans. The Heavenly Host, for the most part, thought of the human race as no different from animals. Another reason was the human limited lifespan. Most angels would go through several domesticated companions during their two-hundred-year station on Earth. The humans were either let go in the end or, in a lot of cases, died at the hands of their masters.

Being with Michael for a while, Kye had heard stories. Some angel masters and their human servants did develop friendships or romantic relationships just like Kye and Michael did. Some went as far as producing offspring, but those cases were rare due to the biological differences between the two races, and often, the offspring were "dealt with" immediately.

Kye shuddered thinking about it. The unions between angels and humans were frowned upon by both races, but it was not new or uncommon. It had happened since the first angels walked the Earth. The War had only brought two races closer than ever, creating the perfect environment for these stories to happen more and more often. It was unholy for the angels, and for most humans, willfully bedding "the sky monsters" was a disgrace and betrayal to their kind. The consequences were dire.

Kye leaned forward to kiss Michael's lips. It was a fearful, butterfly touch that quickly turned into something else when the archangel ran his hand through her hair and pulled her closer.

Michael could taste her tears on his lips. Salty, bitter, and sweet, like the mixture of her thoughts and emotions.

She is beautiful. Father must have been proud of his creation.

The sinful thought startled Michael, but not as much as he had expected. Although he still saw the majority of the human race as troublesome, ugly, violent, and primitive, Michael had slowly and steadily fallen for one in the past three and a half years. The alien and exciting feelings he had never known that he could feel or certain that he should feel grew stronger, and for the first time in eons, Michael did not care. He did not care about the rights, the wrongs, or the judgments he would someday receive from his Father and siblings.

They suddenly didn't seem to matter that much.

Michael picked Kye up and placed her on his lap. His lips never left hers. He traced his right hand from her calf to the lace trim of her nightdress, and then under. His other hand squeezed her waist with a crushing force that made Kye whimper. Her thin eyebrows squeezed, and she pulled back.

"What's wrong?" Michael opened his eyes. It felt as if someone had rudely woken him up from a dream.

"You hurt me." Kye frowned and lifted the side of her dress for him to see the angry pink hand mark on her fair skin.

"I can fix it," Michael said eagerly, hoping to pull her back, but Kye dodged his hand.

"Leave it. It's not a big deal... Besides, I want to keep it. As a reminder." Kye bit her lower lip and smiled at the puzzled archangel.

She slowly pulled the silk sash and let her night robe fall off her body. Kye then lifted the matching nightdress over her head. She dropped it on the floor while watching Michael's eyes widen. He looked at her, the abandoned garment, and her again.

It took Michael a moment to register what Kye had done. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. His brain was overloaded every time he witnessed the sight. He gently touched the side of Kye's neck and took in everything. Her small, heart-shaped face with very light freckles; the thin, curved eyebrows; her small pointy nose; and her little round lips. The best features, to him, were her large brown eyes that always sparkled every time she looked his way. His eyes traced the curve of her neck to her full breasts that were half hidden behind a curtain of her long, soft brown hair, and ended up at her small waist and hips.

Michael gazed at Kye for what felt like an eternity with such adoration in his eyes that she suddenly felt self-conscious. Who was she to deserve this from someone like him?

Kye wasn't lost in her thoughts for long before Michael started to kiss her again, and this time, his kiss contained all the hunger for approval—hers—and desire in the world. They came in like a storm and took all the air from her lungs away. She felt the room spin around them, and Michael was the only rock she could hold on to. Kye dug her nails into his vest's shoulder while tugging on his silk tie, trying to undo it. Michael grabbed her hand before breaking their kiss and putting her down on the chaise.

He held up one finger.

Kye leaned back with both legs folded to one side and started to twirl her hair, faster and faster, while watching Michael undress in front of her. He did it at a normal pace, but in this heated moment, everything was painfully slow. Kye followed his hands' movements. How Michael pulled the knot of his blue tie apart, how he unbuttoned his shirt, one by one. His well-defined tanned torso was bare finally. How his eyes never once left hers. It was sweet torture and a sight that no matter how many times Kye had witnessed it, she would always fall for it. She felt weak and a pool of fire filled the pit of her stomach.

Kye's frown deepened, and she twirled her hair faster.

Michael chuckled at her expression. She had become much more comfortable around him over the course of four years. He remembered vividly when she first came into his life. How prudent she had been. Kye had taken every step as if her life depended on it. Michael knew when she had been ungenuine, but not every day something, or someone, managed to break into his mind and, later on, his heart that way. His eternal life could be so repetitive, and as Michael thought of it now, so lonely that Michael had decided early on to just let her be. He wanted to see how far this little human would go before he had to put a stop to it all. He was glad it had never reached that point.

When the last piece of clothing left his body, Michael came back and leaned down, bracing himself on the chaise backrest to continue the unfinished kiss. Kye instantly wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down on top of her.

Michael's cool and heavy body made Kye shiver before it slowly warmed up on hers. His hand played with the little bow on the side of her panties, the last piece of clothes between them, before forcefully grabbing it.

"Do not tear it."

Kye knew what Michael was about to do, so she glared at him, but her tone didn't contain any bite. He was still learning, and she didn't mind how impatient he could get. If Michael wanted something, he would get it by any means necessary and obliterate everything in the way. It was his best and worst quality.

Kye slowly guided Michael's hand to free her from the flimsy piece of lace and cotton. The archangel gave her a faint smile and sighed in contentment as Kye was bare under him.

Though she was much more than that, in Michael's mind, this was what sin and temptation must look like. Her fair skin turned pink under friction and heat; her brown eyes closed; and her small lips parted in a gasp when he entered fully. Her chest rose and fell in the same rhythm as his. The contrast of her soft brown hair on the white velvet of the chaise burned into Michael's mind and woke up all of his physical sensations at once. Her scent was sweet and decadent, like freshly bloomed roses and ripe sweet pears, like a small garden that came alive under late August sun, like summer wind blew through wheat fields and soaked up their scent. She tasted of earth and salt, feverishly hot and slick with sweat, but he couldn't get enough. His name never sounded so good in combination with her desperate cries and whispers.

He could make her feel everything he needed her to feel without lifting a finger, but then, what was the fun in that? The human mind was crude and limited, and Michael admitted that the feeling of his hard muscles pressing against her soft flesh was quite...different, incomparable to anything in this world, or any other world he had been to for that matter. It was fuel to the fire burning inside of him.

Their bodies melt into one as every fiber in Kye's body unravels. She completely gave herself to the archangel and held on to him as if she were a small boat rocking on violent waves. Michael was her only anchor. His blue eyes glowed and wandered over her body, setting every single nerve end inside her on fire. The more Michael gave, the more Kye wanted. She was hungry for the electrifying feeling of his skin. She loved the clean scent that wrapped around her like summer showers, cleansing her from the inside out. She loved the dull pain when his hands tangled in her hair, when his lips bruised her skin, or when he went in a little too deep. Kye didn't care if Michael broke her into a million pieces. It was wrong to want one of them that way, but it felt so right. It did because it was Michael.

Kye bit his arms hard enough to draw blood. She licked her lips and looked up at him with a dreamy smile. That seemed to be enough. Michael buried his face in her hair, muffling her name in a deep growl.

The room shook with energy. Books fell from the endless tall shelves, and all the glass objects, light bulbs and windows included, exploded. Flashes of lightning got through the sheer curtains, projecting the shadow of six wings—two gigantic and four smaller ones—on the wall behind Michael. They were larger than both Kye and Michael's mortal bodies combined, spreading the room's length. Michael's eyes glowed up so brilliantly in the dark that Kye had to turn away. She was in awe just like the very first time she had experienced it. I'll protect you, a voice echoed in her head. Strong winds blew past them as if they were in the middle of a hurricane, knocking down whatever still stood. The intense fluctuation of temperature and vibration shot through Kye, and something erupted inside of her. The whole world seemed to be shocked awake with more vibrant colors and sharp sounds for a full minute before everything died down...

In a graveyard of dry leaves, books, glass fragments, and small items, they lay in each other's embrace. The moonlight from outside blanketed everything in a cool, soft glow. There were no other sounds besides the ticking of an old clock and their in-sync heartbeats. Kye stared out the broken window. Michael's left arm wrapped around her shoulders while his right hand traveled back and forth the curve of her back. His warm and solid body under hers was the only reminder that she needed. It is real, and he is with me. The moment's quietness and contentment gave her clarity.

"Michael..." She whispered.

The hand on her back slowed down, letting her know that he was waiting for her to continue.

Kye lifted her head to look into the archangel's eyes. "You know, it's really scary for me still to imagine an endless life after everyone I have ever known and cared for is gone, but... When I imagine you will be there with me, it's not so scary anymore. I don't want you to spend eternity by yourself, and I also don't like the thought of you with someone else either... I know it's silly and selfish and so human of me," she chuckled. "But I do want to go everywhere you go, Heaven and Earth, just not as a servant. I mean, I'm happy that you've chosen me."

The archangel didn't reply right away, but his eyes lit up like two small flames before dimming. Michael's lips curled up slightly, and he pulled Kye in for a kiss on her forehead.

"Not as a servant," he whispered. "And I'm happy too."

NOTE:

So there you have it, the first (updated) love scene. I tried! This is an experience to see if I can write it. I know it's very light and might not be up to par when you're looking for smut or something specific but this is the style I prefer until I figure out how to up the level of spices tastefully (And I do want to up it, trust me :)

I was quite happy with the scene at the end, to be honest, because I wanted to focus on their feelings/thoughts. Sex was a canvas for them to express those and a welcoming bonus to the scene.

Another thing that might not be big but I should point out, I hope it's not a dealbreaker for some readers, is I know all Michael's vessels in the show or the notable ones, all have green eyes (For being from the same bloodline and such), especially the one I've chosen for this story - Young John Winchester/Matt Cohen, but most angels in the show had blue-eyed vessels and their eyes glowed bright blue when they wanted to show off their power so I'm impressed with that. Also, I'm obsessed with Cas/Misha's eyes :D Who doesn't? So those are the reasons for describing Michael with blue eyes.
