"Next time that asshole decides to bring his luntic wife around, remind me to not be here."

Everett was pissed about what happened taken place between all of them. It put him on edge. Shit. He had half a mind to pack everything up and go home.

Living with the awful memories of Nora in their own house was a hell of a lot easier to swallow then dealing with all this shit that happened here, in this house.

Everett thought about what Tobias said. It was an accident. Did that mean he had played a part in it? Had he been horsing around with his daughter and something happened?

Had he dropped her from inside the secret room so that she fell down, down, down and cracked her skull on a rock and died?

Had they been out playing in the woods and as Tobias was chasing after her, she fell and tripped and broke her neck?

Everett wanted to know what the hell happened. Yet at the same time, he wasn't sure he wanted to know the entire story. Especially after losing his own daughter.

"They own the damn house, Everett!" Dahlia snapped. "I couldn't very well tell them not to come."

"Yeah. Okay." Everett scratched the back of his neck. He needed Tobias to tell them what happened to his daughter.

"That bastard might not have intentionally murdered his own daughter. But he sure as hell knows exactly what happened. And I'm going to find out. Even if I have to beat it out of him in order to get it."

Kyle went back up into the attic. He'd stumbled upon something puzzling. He'd found an old, trunk filled with clothing for what looked like a young kid.

They were girl's clothing and at first, he thought they probably belonged to Violet. That is, until he saw the picture at the bottom of the trunk.

Kyle carefully lifted the broken framed photo out of the bottom of the trunk and stared at it in disbelief.

The photo was a picture of the Wrights. And there was Violet and... another little girl, who looked about like she was four or five years old.

Kyle just stared at the photo. What was this? If Violet had a little sister, where was she? Had she died, too, or had she been taken away from the Wrights because of what had happened to Violet?

Kyle stood up and hurried downstairs to show his mom the picture. She took it and studied it silently for several minutes.

"I think," she said quietly. "We really need to have that talk with Tobias Wright."

Tobias refused to come back to the house and speak with any of them about the photo or anything else, regarding anything about his daughter.

"We can't force him to tell us," Dahlia said reasonably to Everett and Kyle.

"It's not even technically our business. I mean, would you want people prying into our personal family business. Especially... Nora?"

Everett made a frustrated sound. Dahlia was right. He wouldn't want that. Everett began thinking about the human skull they'd discovered.

Maybe it didn't belong to Violet, but the other child. But if she'd died, too, why wasn't her ghost hanging around here as well?

Whatever the case might be, that little girl had obviously been able to pass over to the spirit realm, whereas Violet could not. Had... Violet played a part in her sister's death and that was why she couldn't pass over? Because she felt guilty over it?

Possibly. Everett suddenly had an idea strike him. He could go to the local library and see if he could find out about any accidents that took place at this house.

If Tobias Wright wasn't going to tell him the dark tale, he'd figure it out on his own.

"Kyle, how would you like to play detective?" Everett quickly explained what he was going to do.

"Would you mind if I came?" Everett looked at his wife. Thank the hadn't lost her the way Tobias had lost his wife.

"I don't mind. Let's go."

It took a while to find exactly what they were looking for. And even then, the whole story wasn't revealed.

Everett had come across an article in the local newspaper about a tragedy that had taken place at Fairview Manor.

About three years ago, according to the article, there were two mysterious disappearances of two, young girls that lived there.

The Wright's had been investigated by the local police, as they thought that they'd killed both they're daughters and had hidden their remains somewhere in the house.

But nobody could find anything at the house. The bodies had simply disappeared and nobody knew what became of them and since the local police couldn't pin anything on Tobias and Valentina Wright, the investigation was dropped.

Not long after the investigation was put to rest, the Wrights moved out of their home and decided to put it up for sale. However, whoever moved into the house, kept making claims that it was haunted.

Finally, Tobias Wright, apparently gave up on trying to sell the house and just rented out to anyone who was willing to to stay there.

Everett leaned back in his chair. He really couldn't say that Tobias seemed like a cold blooded killer. But hey, some of those other psychopaths that were killers, seemed like upstanding people, too. Until the truth came out.

"That was a waste of our time." Kyle looked annoyed and Everett couldn't really disagree with him.

"Well, we learned that there were two girls, not just one," Dahlia said.

"Yeah, but already knew that from the picture that Kyle found." Everett stood up and headed for the exit.

Dahlia went to let the people at the library know that they were finished looking through the microfilm and she and Kyle hurried after Everett.

Kyle was determined that he was going to get an answer from Violet the next time he saw her.

Unfortunately, he didn't see or even hear from her for three whole days. It had been surprisingly quiet in the old manor house.

Nothing was out of place or broken. And there weren't any odd noises or the sound of footsteps or doors opening and closing by themselves.

It was eerily silent and that almost bothered Kyle more than when he'd first discovered about Violet haunting the house.

Kyle was awakened in the middle of the night. Be could have sworn he'd heard.... Nora... crying. That was nothing new. He'd often thought he'd heard her crying after she was... gone.

Except, Kyle hadn't heard it ever since they'd come to Fairview Manor. He was a little surprised that he has thought he'd heard it.

He sat up and reached over to turn on the lamp on the nightstand by the bed. Violet was standing there and she looked.... freaky and it scared the crap out of Kyle.

Her face appeared bony and her eyes looked too big for her face and she was giving Kyle this awful, freaky stare that was making his skin crawl.

"Tell me what the hell happened to you, Violet. And your.... sister. Now.". Kyle made sure to keep his tone low and soft.

He wasn't sure if Violet was starting to lose her humanity and that was why she looked this way.

"I killed her!" Violet snapped, beginning to assend on Kyle. He quickly scrambled out of bed and rushed over to the bedroom door and threw it open.

He shouted for his parents, who came running. Violet was still slowly and menacingly advancing on them. It was true. The longer she stayed in this house, as a ghost, the more she lost of who she used to be.

"Violet, stop! We just want the truth! We just want to help you!"

The room started shaking and the lights started flickering. Violet wasn't Violet anymore. She was a full fledged apparition that was pissed off because she'd died before she was supposed to.

"Get downstairs!" Everett ordered and they all ran downstairs. The house was shaking even more violently and stuff was flying off the shelves and all around the rooms, crashing into each other and breaking.

Everett just managed to get the front door open and ushered his family outside. Violet was wailing loudly now, her entire voice seemed to pierce the air all around them.

Everett was calling Tobias Wright. This shit was over. He wanted the truth and then....they were packing up to leave this place.
