In love, I've learned to brace for storms,

Each gentle breeze met with alarms.

I prepare for the worst, always on guard,

Afraid to let down, my heart scarred.

I build walls high, brick by brick,

Afraid to be hurt, afraid to feel sick.

In the dance of love, I stumble and sway,

But my fear of the fall leads me astray.

A skeptic's gaze, fearing love's clutch.

I doubt the sincerity in my lover's eyes.

But in my fortress, I am alone,

Isolated from the love I've never truly known.

For love demands vulnerability's embrace,

A leap of faith, a risk to face.

A fortress of caution, my heart's self-imposed role.
