Hello lovely readers! Here starts the next saga in the journey of The Great Dot Hank, with the second Light Novel in the series, entitled The Book of HUMILITY. There was a bit of Japanese sprinkled here and there in The Book of LIBERALITY, but most of it, I think, was pretty recognizable - just some times when Rio said things like 'Yes' or 'Um' or 'Hey.' Although she does give Hank the nickname of Chīsai Koinu (小さい 子犬) which means 'Little Dog.' Ha ha. But here we have a bit more stuff that, though it's not important, it's gosh darn cute to say. So I will translate for you! First off, as we find Rio prone to do, she calls Hank a ko'yarō, (こ'野郎) which pretty much means 'you bastard' - though one might think 'you piece of shit.' Rio is such a potty mouth. Now, soon after Hank has won her heart, she asks him to say 'It.' But he replies with a line he's probably rehearsed a thousand times, in anticipation of one day saying it to Anna: Kokoro kowareta toki, anata wa kirei - 心壊れた時, あなたはきれい. This means 'When your heart is broken, you are beautiful.' Well! Hank is a Romeo! So that gets Rio a-bobbin' and she blurts out to him 'Oishī! Sore ga suki!' - おいしい！それが好き！ - which means 'Yummy! I like it!' After a little more face-sucking, she changes her mind and says 'Daisuki!' - 大好き！- I LOVE IT! Of course, pronouns are not a thing so much in Japanese, so Hank takes 'daisuki' to mean, in fact, 'I love you.' Which he says back in kind. And if that don't get Rio thumping harder, this line says it all: Anata o tabetai - あなた お 食べたい We'll leave the meaning of that love nugget for you to discover, but suffice to say that, if it was Rio who thought that, Hank's in for a treat. And if Hank thought it to Rio -- Well. He's still in for a treat. ❤✨💖💫❤
